Sharing the stories of Quinte West's history.
Located in the historic Town Hall 1861, the Society preserves and maintains the history of Quinte West. Our building has been, over the years, everything from a market, with a butcher shop inside, to a jail and a Council chamber upstairs in our restored auditorium. Mandate is to acquire, record and make available for research the important (and not so important) material that makes up our rich past. We also have a Film Club that screens films once a month.

- Promote awareness of the history of Trenton and Quinte West (Frankford, Carrying Place, Wooler, Part of Sidney and Murray Townships.
- Record and store various artifacts that have been donated, including items that came to us from the Dufferin School.
- There are displays of historical items on view to the public.
- We scan a large number of historically significant photos and lots of family photos from a variety of sources working towards one day having an online searchable database.
- Compile information files (pictures, newspaper clippings, etc.) categorized by Local politics, business and industries, entertainment, sports, people (churches, houses, families, schools, service clubs), transportation (rail, bridges, marine, Police, etc.), available for research or your viewing pleasure.
- There are microfilms from Trenton newspapers starting in 1867 up until 2008 available for viewing/research.
- There are several books and pamphlets available for sale and many more for browsing at your leisure.
Membership will entitle you to free admission or reduced fees for some activities and voting rights for the executive during the Annual General Meeting.
